AirAsia to fly to Phuket
KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia will begin daily flights from the KL International Airport to Phuket in Thailand next month.
Flights to the popular Thai resort island will start on Dec 8 and one-way tickets cost from RM89.99 each.
AirAsia chief executive officer Tony Fernandes said the low prices would be available on a first-come-first-served basis and the fares would increase by 60% on the date of departure.
He said the airline expected to ferry about 10,000 passengers a month between both countries.
Flights will depart from KLIA at 10.40am and arrive at the Phuket International Airport an hour later.
Flights from Phuket will depart at 11.35am (Thai time).
?Now travellers have an affordable alternative to connect Kuala Lumpur and Phuket.
?We hope to increase the passenger traffic and develop new industries in both countries,? he said during the launch of AirAsia's first regional flight here yesterday.
